A kiss

If I don’t kiss you
I’ll kiss another.
And what does it really matter.
Resisting his sweet touch and the beautiful warmth
Created between us sitting so close,
I pushed him away, made myself
walk to the door.
It was so far from me, each step
I took seemed to bring me closer
to him.
It was like shuffling my feet on a treadmill,
not really moving at all.
He would not plant his aimless kiss
on my lips today.
